Speed Dating
Speed dating gained social acceptance among the young in the late ‘90s. It is a kind of a round-robin meeting where several daters meet potential partners at a one-on-one at the same event. Each date typically lasts ten minutes or less before you move onto the next potential mate. Within that time period, you must get to know whether whom you want to continue seeing.
Speed dating is a formalized matchmaking process or dating system whose purpose is to encourage people to meet a large number of new people. Its origins are credited to Rabbi Yaacov Deyo of Aish HaTorah, originally as a way to help Jewish singles meet and marry. "SpeedDating" as a single word, is a registered trademark of Aish HaTorah. "Speed dating", as two separate words, is often used as a generic term for similar events.
Our singles dating and singles parties, which also include other dating events, are highly successful, many of those who speed date with us are recommended to us by their friends. We think there has never been a better time for singles dating so look for a town near you and the next date in your age group then book online now to secure your place at one of our singles nights. Our singles night venues are always very stylish and booked exclusively for our use.
What do you wear for speed dating?
The key in choosing your outfit is to dress attractively without dressing to attract. In other words, your goal is to meet a potential mate, not just attract attention, particularly from the wrong kind of person. A good rule of thumb is to look at yourself in the mirror before leaving and determine if any particular article of clothing or exposed body part could be distracting. If you pass this test, you’ll know the people you meet will be able to focus on you, not your clothes or a body part.
More people understand Speed Dating these days. The benefits are now well known. Upon arrival at one of our Speed Dating events, you will be checked in and given a personalised badge with a number on it. We will wait for everyone to arrive and then your host will give a quick welcome speech to let you know what to expect. Once the dating part of the evening starts, those with badge number one will start at table number one, those with badge number two at table number two and so on. After four minutes, we will ring a bell, the girls will stay seated and all the guys will move round one table. Between each date we allow a little time for you to make your notes on your dates using your Speeding Ticket. The events will continue until you have met everyone there.
With Speed dating, everyone is there to meet other people - just like you. You have just enough time with each person to decide whether or not you would like to see them again, and you only get put in contact with the people you want to meet who also want to meet you again - no more awkward phone calls and no having to avoid people you don't like. |
